How long have you been in business in Hawaii?
In 2019 ALTRES, Inc. proudly celebrated 50 years in business supporting the staffing and HR needs of our Statewide community.
What has changed over the years for your business?
We’ve had successes over our 50 years, but I think our biggest has to be our transformation from an employment administration company to a technology company. In 2008, we saw the cloud revolution coming and we knew we needed to extend our HR and payroll services to the web. Our goal was to develop a simple HR information system that was accessible anytime, anywhere that would provide time-saving features. Thus, began our journey to develop HR Symphony. Today, HR Symphony provides our clients all the employee lifecycle tools they need in one integrated cloud-based HR ecosystem. Because of our transformation, our clients and our operational teams are much more efficient. We’ve taken our service levels to a higher standard.
Why are you interested in supporting East Meets West this year?
In the last century America focused its attention on Europe and its global effect. Today the East is emerging as the new center of influence for technology and commerce. Hawaii is the natural convergence point for these two worlds. We are proud to support the Conference which plays an important role in catalyzing the next wave of technology, innovation and social change that will define our future.
Why do you think technology and innovation are important to Hawaii’s future?
From retail to travel to banking, the consumer expectation of on-demand service is the new normal. This goes for human resources, too. We’re constantly evolving to meet the needs of the business community through innovations in our technology and the future is exciting.
